Instead of showing rockets or abstract scientific diagrams, the campaign renders daily life on Mars, complete with simulated habitats and terraformed landscapes, directly onto urban skylines. The objective is to convert abstract interest into concrete applications for skilled professionals.

What actually shipped

The core of "Project Eden" involves deploying AR experiences in high-traffic urban centers like New York's Times Square and London's Piccadilly Circus. These installations project hyper-realistic Martian environments onto existing architecture, allowing passersby to glimpse a potential future home. A dedicated mobile application, TerraForm Eden App, serves as an interactive portal, offering personalized habitat tours, details on specific roles, and direct application pathways. QR codes on companion out-of-home (OOH) placements drive app downloads.

While immersive OOH has seen limited use in brand activations, TerraForm's deployment scales it as a primary recruitment tool. This contrasts with earlier attempts by space exploration companies that often relied on documentary-style content or abstract technological showcases. The approach echoes some luxury real estate developments that use VR walkthroughs, but applies it to a far more ambitious, long-term proposition.
